The Design Journey
The Story Guiding the Design
The cover art for "Uninterrupted: A Collection of Poems" originates from Hemangi's initial vision of a girl by a window gazing at the night sky. As the design evolved, it symbolically represents the universe within the girl, suggesting that everything she seeks is within herself. The inclusion of a potted plant on the window ledge, adorned with a yellow flower, signifies the silent compassion of nature accompanying the author during her reflective moments at night. The overall design encapsulates the themes of reflection, silence, and respite, preparing readers for a contemplative engagement with the poems.
The Intention with the Design
The intention behind the cover art was to visually echo the overarching theme of reflection present in the poetry collection. The aim was to create an aesthetic that mirrors the author's contemplative moments, often occurring during the night. The dark color tones, including black and dark green, capture the atmosphere of these introspective times. The addition of yellow serves as a symbol of hope, reinforcing the author's belief that, regardless of challenges, everything will be fine. The cover art, featuring a girl by a window with the night sky within her, represents the poet as a universe in herself, inviting readers to delve into the introspective journey explored in the poems.
